Yearn Skin, a Proudly South African brand, was founded by siblings Natasha Michael (BA) and Nadia Michael (MBA). Coming from a previously disadvantaged background in Westbury, a coloured township in the West of Johannesburg, the sisters embarked on a mission to address the lack of diverse and market-specific products. This frustration led them on a two-year journey to create a brand that prioritises efficacy and quality.
During this journey, Natasha and Nadia collaborated with expert formulators, labs, and testing facilities to ensure that all formulations and products meet the highest standards of efficacy, safety, and quality. Their dedication to providing effective skincare solutions stems from their personal experiences and the desire to cater to their community's needs.
"As women of colour we personally struggled with uneven skin tone and dark marks. We YEARNED for skincare that was effective. After years of going for skin treatments and spending thousands on skincare products; we found that many skincare brands on the market did not cater to our particular needs. We believe that skincare should not only be inclusive but reasonable in terms of access and affordability. And so, our brand was started out of the necessity to address the issue of hyperpigmentation. We know how this skin condition affects one's self-esteem and we wanted to create a comprehensive skincare line addressing this issue. Essentially, we want people to FEEL GOOD IN THEIR OWN SKIN."

We believe that skincare should be a viewed holistically, and in order to truly get great results involves not only your skincare products, but your environment, what you eat, your mental health and your physical health. We believe that not all natural ingredients are good and not all synthetic ingredients are bad and so our range uses a combination of natural and lab bioactive ingredients that restore, brighten and maintain healthy looking skin.
Our goal is to offer a skincare range that is inclusive, promotes self-care and presents more than just outward beauty but transforms the way our customers feel, by giving them confidence and the tools to feel beautiful, inside and out.
